Artificial intelligence - the brain of manufacturing in Industry 4.0

Machines that show intelligence, and intelligent behavior, that is Artificial Intelligence. Where many would expect all systems containing software to exhibit Artificial Intelligence is incorrect. Artificial Intelligence requires not only that a system or a machine is programmed to perform a certain task, but also that it is able to observe what is happening and to some extent autonomously adjust its behavior. It is this observing of the environment, through sensors and other input capabilities, and analyzing the information obtained in the process, that distinguishes artificially intelligent systems from normal programmed systems.
