Fontys technical talent presents innovative research

More than 50 Fontys student groups, all up-and-coming technicians in the final year of their college education, present the results of six months of research and development. This will take place during the online symposium 'Engineering & Technology in Practice', on Wednesday afternoon, February 3. The event is organized for the fourth time by Fontys Hogeschool Engineering and Fontys Centre of Expertise High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM).

Engineering & Technology in Practice symposium
The student groups, who collaborated with numerous (technology) companies from the Brainport region for their research, present the results of their projects to a professional jury, lecturers and the business community. A cash prize of € 500 is available for the best project. The symposium is entirely in English.

Getting to know you

An important goal of the event is to show the business community and organizations in the area what it means when companies and students work together on the (applied) technology of the future. In addition, there is plenty of room to talk to the students, a great opportunity for the market to get acquainted with the new hires of the near future. Fourth year students of the following studies of Fontys University of Applied Sciences Engineering will be present: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive, Mechatronics and Applied Mathematics.

Online and live

The online symposium brings a mix of presentations. The student groups have prepared a short video pitch demonstrating physical products and prototypes. In addition, each student group will make a live presentation about their project and the results achieved. The website www.fontys.nl/engineeringinpractice contains an overview of all research projects.

HTSM Award

At the end of the symposium, a jury will announce which student group has won the cash prize of €500 made available by the Fontys Centre of Expertise HTSM. The projects will be judged on innovative character and marketing possibilities. The online symposium takes place on Wednesday, February 3, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
