Fontys technical talent presents innovative research

Over 50 Fontys student groups, all up-coming technicians in the final year of their studies, present the results of six months of research and development. This will happen during the online symposium 'Engineering & Technology in Practice', on Wednesday 3 February. The event is organized for the fourth time by Fontys School of Engineering and Fontys Centre of Expertise High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM).

The student groups, who have cooperated with numerous (technology) companies from the Brainport region, will present the results of their research projects to a jury, lecturers and the business community. A cash prize of € 500 is available for the best project. The symposium is held entirely in English.

Meet your new hires

An important objective of the event is to show the business community and organizations what it means when companies and students work together on the (applied) technology of the future. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunity to talk to the students, which is a great way for businesses to meet the new hires of the near future. Final-year students of the following studies of Fontys University of Applied Sciences, School Engineering will present themselves: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive, Mechatronics and Applied Mathematics.

Online and live

The online symposium offers a mix of presentations. The student groups have prepared a short video pitch in which physical products and prototypes are demonstrated. In addition, each student group will give a live presentation about their project and the achieved results. HTSM Award

At the end of the symposium, a jury will announce which student group has won the € 500 cash prize made available by the Fontys Centre of Expertise HTSM. The projects are judged on their innovative character and marketing possibilities. The online symposium will take place on Wednesday 3 February from 2pm to 6pm. The Fontys Centre of Expertise High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM) connects higher vocational education to the business community.
