In the context of Industry 4.0, cloud computing plays an important role. Still, a lot of people are still wondering - what is cloud computing. In Cloud computing, software runs on a system somewhere in a data center or on the internet instead of on your own desktop. Nowadays, even in a way that makes it completely transparent to users where the software runs exactly. This makes it possible to create high performant, distributed applications that can be accessed from any location on the network, on the internet. A basic example that everybody knows is the indication of traffic jams in navigation systems. Data is collected and processed in a central location in the cloud and accessed by individual navigation systems in cars and on phones.
